FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - TATTOO

HOW MUCH DOES A TATTOO COST?

Pricing for tattoos very depending on the piece and how long it takes the artist to complete. Moat of our pricing is $100-150/hour depending on the artist.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SHOPS?

100% single use, sterile, & disposable. So what does this mean exactly?

A disposable studio is a studio that does not reprocess and reuse any equipment, instead they chose presterilized  single-use implements (or sterilized upon use) that can be used on a single client and then thrown away afterward. Other shops tend to reprocess their tools for use on future clients, over and over.

This is a multiple step process: Immediately after use, the tools should be placed in a tray containing a chemical cleaning solution. When those tools are ready to be processed, they are run through an ultrasonic cleaning machine, hand scrubbed, rinsed, dried, and packaged for sterilization in the shop’s autoclave.

Which is better? Well, when done correctly, using reprocessed tools is just as safe as using single-use, disposable equipment. There are also a few key reasons why we decided to go 100% disposable:

Client safety. Let’s face it, artists and piercers are not robots. With how many steps are involved in reprocessing tools safely, there is a chance for human error. By avoiding reprocessing tools and equipment altogether, you eliminate the risk of someone making a mistake.

Personal safety. There is always a certain amount of risk involved when dealing with biohazardous materials and harsh chemicals. Personal protective equipment or PPE (gloves, sleeve protectors, aprons, and face masks) can minimize this risk, but if you can avoid it entirely by using disposable tools, why wouldn't you?

Environmental. Let's consider the amount of waste created when reprocessing one single tool: chemicals for cleaning, water for rinsing and filling the ultrasonic/autoclave, electricity for running these machines, a full suit of plastic personal protective equipment, several pairs of gloves, and plastic packaging for the tool. Compare this to simply throwing away a single-use tattoo tube, and it's obvious which winner is more eco friendly.

Going disposable was the best choice for both our clients’ and our safety.

HOW CAN I GET AN ESTIMATE ON A TATTOO?

We would recommend speaking directly with the artist you would like to be tattooed by. Artists can be reached by contacting them directly on the WHO WE ARE page, calling the shop, or stopping by.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO GET TATTOOED?
We are typically by appointment for tattoos, however, sometimes we have cancellations and would love to fill that appointment spot. We would recommend calling the shop the day youre wanting to come in to see if we've had any cancellations. We also post on our Instagram and Facebook when our artists have spots they'd like to fill.
ARE TATTOOS PAINFUL?
Let's be real, this one is completely up to the person being tattooed. Lucky for you, if you decide you don't want to feel your tattoo or want to sit better for one, we have numbing cream available.
Do you offer tattoo removal?
We currently do not offer tattoo removal at this time, please check back at a later date.

DO YOU TATTOO MINORS?

At this current time we do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

Pinky's Place is located at:

200 Ave K SE, Suite 3A, Winter Haven, FL 33880

863-875-8864

You can find more info on the CONTACT page.

DOES IT HURT?

That's a tricky question, since pain is subjective, and everyone reacts differently. What is painless for you may be a little worse for someone else. While we can't promise a completely painless piercing, we CAN promise that we will use the best jewelry on planet earth, brand new needles for every single piercing, and the latest and greatest techniques to make you as absolutely comfortable and bring you an experience that you'll be telling your friends about.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE A TATTOO TO HEAL??

Everyone is different but we typically see most tattoos healed within 1-3 weeks.

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED?
We have a combination of 20+ years tattoo experience between our current staff members.

CAN I COVER UP A SCAR WITH A TATTOO?
In general yes, but it will be determined by the nature of your scar and by its age, an in person consultation would be needed for this.

Can I bring people with me to my appointment?

While we love having people in the shop, we want to make sure our clients and artists can be comfortable and not overwhelmed by an entourage of people crowding the areas.

If space is limited, friends of clients may be asked to remain in the lobby.

SHOULD I TIP?

Tips are never expected but always appreciated! Tattoo artists and piercers are service workers like your hair stylists, nail techs, waitresses and delivery drivers. The same tipping scale you may use for them, works for us too.

HOW CAN I BEST PREPARE TO GET TATTOOED?

Make sure to take care of yourself! Make sure you’re well rested, have had a good meal and are keeping hydrated. A happy body makes for happy healing!

You are welcome to bring a book, phone charger, snacks, water, comfortable clothing, etc.

When should I NOT get tattooed?

  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Badly sunburned

  • Fighting illness (such as the flu)

  • Planning to travel or swim within the next several weeks
